We offer barrel threading services for most handguns, including unconventional solutions for those weapons which “can’t be threaded”.

Pistol barrel threading with extension adapter is $110 + shipping for most handguns. Those which require slide face modification to accommodate the adapter are usually $150 + shipping. Makarovs and 1895 Nagant revolvers sent in as complete pistols are $160 + shipping.
We need your upper assembly – slide, barrel, spring & guide rod (if present) – for this service, but not the frame.
Minimum barrel diameters at muzzle for common calibers to be threaded EXTERNALLY for an extension and NOT require slide modification are listed below. Add .02″ for barrels that need to be INTERNALLY threaded for a male/male extension:
.22: .373″
.25: .401″
.30/.32/7.62/7.65: .472″
.38/.380/9mm: .505″
.40/10mm: .555″
.45: .605”
Pistols with no guide rod that have a spring-over-barrel arrangement cannot* be threaded & extended if their barrels do not meet these minimum dimensional requirements. As well, slide modification for a larger diameter extension on a skinny barrel is not always possible.
Some extensions will be blended to the barrel and look like a factory threaded barrel, some will have a flange. This is at our discretion, and the former generally is only done if thread major diameter is at least .05″ smaller than barrel outside diameter. Some rimfire extensions will have a female Torx driver feature, other extensions with a flange will have a 12 scallop feature that accepts a 9/16″ 12-point wrench/socket for 1/2-28 threads or a 5/8″ 12-point wrench/socket for 9/16-24 & .578-28 threads. We do not cut metric threads.
Standard tenon lengths are .4″ for rimfire, .45″ for all others.
*We do NOT cut left-hand or metric threads on barrels*
Extensions are secured with Loctite to prevent them unscrewing with your suppressor and are not meant to be removed with any frequency. It is generally possible to effectively clean the gun with the barrel & slide together by moving the barrel fore & aft and tilting it as you clean.
*It is physically possible to externally thread & extend barrels with an extension diameter as thin as .110″ over bore diameter, but it is NOT recommended and would be done with the understanding that there is no warranty whatsoever, including full disclaimer for any damage or injury as a result of failure if you opt to proceed with an extension smaller in diameter than the minimums above.
